Individual training plans are going to be different depending on each client's
past experience and current goals.
We will
work with you to determine the best running schedule that suits your needs.
Some of our clients are experienced Marathoners looking for ways to improve
their times, Boston qualify, or compete in the Masters division. Others are
first timers seeking guidance that will enable them to finish the Marathon
strongly.
It's true that the greatest things in life do not come easy. You can go
out and run a 5k, have a difficult time and try again next week. With the
Marathon you can be fully prepared, have a difficult day and have to wait
several months for another shot at it.
We take this aspect of the Marathon race very seriously. Our goal is to have
each client that has entered our program at their very best when they line
up at the start.
With this in mind our primary objective is to build your aerobic base very
early on in your schedule. For most runners it is not until later that we
will incorporate workouts that will bring you to your peak.
During the training it will be important to eat a well balanced diet, to
get lots of sleep, and when appropriate to rest.
In the final weeks of your training we will know where your goal should
be set based upon how certain key workouts go.
As you taper from our program you will realize that you have already tackled
the difficult part of taking on the Marathon and the race will be the icing
on the cake.
