Initially you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire detailing your past
running history. You will also be presented with your schedule in which you
will post the day of your Marathon along with other races and personal commitments
you wish to take part in leading up to the big day.
After
a review from our staff you will be assigned a coach. Your coach will have
over ten years of competitive running experience and will have a 2:45 or
faster personal record for the Marathon. Your coach will also be well versed
in traditional training methods as well as current training philosophies
that have proven to be successful.
After an initial phone call from your coach you will receive an E-Mail that
will detail the first three weeks of your training schedule. Weekly goals
leading up to the Marathon will be outlined beyond that.
Each day you will log in information about your training on your schedule.
Using this information your coach will stay 1 ½ to 2 weeks ahead with
your specific workout information. Further adjustments may be made depending
on how certain training runs go. Each training week brings on new challenges.
The more feedback we receive from you the better our ability will be to steer
you through your schedule.
We will work with the races you would like to participate in leading up
to the Marathon. With our focus on the Marathon we will use the races in
a way that will benefit you on your big day. We will advise you as to whether
we feel certain races may impede your performance in your Marathon. We will
also work with you to fit certain group runs and workouts that you may be
used to running with others.
As you approach your Marathon you will be doing more paced workouts and
your coach will then be able to establish an accurate target goal time for
the race.
